InfoComm 2012 Wrap Up

Draper's Booth at InfoComm 2012

Draper celebrated its 110th year in business at InfoComm this year with a contest. We asked visitors to guess the total years experience working the show and the winner would get an iPad and smart cover! The lucky winner, Don Bailey from Tech Design Resources in Rockville, MD, guessed the correct number of years at 465!

Don had some nice things to say, which I’d like to pass on:

One of the great features of Draper screens, in addition to their quality, is their customer service.  Kimberly Wallace provides quick turn around on quotes and knows or gets all the answers required in a prompt manner.

I really like the new tab tension screens with the integrated tabs. It looks better and solves the “loose tab” problem.

We had 33 people in Las Vegas this year with experience ranging from 1 year of service to 43 years of service. I personally have 12 years of service and at times felt like a newbie next to John Pidgeon (President) and Mike Broome (VP of Manufacturing), who each had over 43 years under their belts.

Draper is an amazing company. I doubt Luther O. Draper (Founder) could have envisioned the success we’ve had over the past 110 years. And we are gearing up for more. If you stopped by the booth, you saw some of our new screen surfaces. One of the highlights was EcoMatt. It’s the first Cradle to Cradle certified screen surface in the industry with the optical performance of a traditional matt white surface. It is completely, 100% recyclable. And it’s GreenGuard certified for Children and Schools. We also highlighted our quality lab and testing capabilities. We want to make sure what we supply to our customers is exactly what we advertise. Our commitment to quality will make that happen.

We continued our experience in innovation by introducing a video conference camera lift. It’s unique in operation and installation. It can be installed independently from the screen itself, giving the customer more flexibility in design. Our lift line is still the most comprehensive in the industry.

Like I mentioned before…my part of the 110 year journey has been brief but amazing. I’m looking forward to the future at Draper. Stay tuned…

Are you referring to the carrying case for folding screens? We did show a brand new carrying case at Infocomm, and Jim Hoodlebrink has posted an article about it, titled “19th Infocomm and Counting.” Please check it out! We’ll be adding this new case to our website and other publications soon!
