Jubilee Days and the Ultimate Folding Screen

Ultimate Folding Screen

Ultimate Folding Screen

Every year my town has a summer celebration, called Jubilee Days. It is a great opportunity to see old friends, catch up on the local details, and rediscover why I like to raise my family here. Every once in awhile the town decides to change the set up of our celebration, which causes the town folks to complain or rejoice at what our elected officials are doing. It gives us a reason to explore and think about our community.

In our business, I needed to do the same to a great product. After eight good years, it was time to review the design of our Ultimate Folding Screen (UFS). What we came up with is better manufacturing specifications making it tighter, stronger, and yet still easy to set up and tear down. The main change was a slight difference to our Drapery Bar hardware. When using the dress kit, the drapery bar has a bayonet type attachment that locks onto the UFS dress kit. We reinforced this arm to help eliminate opportunity for bending or sagging.

Like my town’s summer celebration, these changes came from people’s ideas and comments. I always welcome yours. I look forward to hearing from you!

About Jim Hoodlebrink

Hello! I am in product management for Draper, currently focusing on AV Rental products. I support our sales force and our customers with information about Draper's wide range of portable products.

It seems to me our best products and ideas come from listening to our customers, so I hope this blog can not only interest you but also spur some great conversation.

My background includes an education from Indiana University (I hope the basketball team improves soon) and 18 years of experience in the industry. I have held various positions within Draper starting as a Regional Manager with an eventual transition into Product Management. I love sports and outdoor activities and occasionally sneak in some Xbox with my kids. I continue to keep up with my CTS certification and enjoy working for Draper and being a part of this industry.

I look forward to posting to this blog and sharing my experience and conversations with you. I welcome your interest and comments.
