Wellness Committee

Our award-winning Draper Wellness Committee

Draper has one of the best employee wellness programs in the state of Indiana. That claim was recently confirmed by the Wellness Council of Indiana, which awarded Draper its Five Star award, the highest level of recognition it extends. The Wellness Council of Indiana awards Three, Four and Five Star recognitions to employers who create a corporate culture that encourages and supports employee health through workplace wellness programs.

Draper was the third employer in the state of Indiana to receive this prestigious award. Other Five Star employers are –

  • Deaconess Hospital, Evansville
  • Butler University, Indianapolis
  • Toyota, Princeton
  • SIHO Insurance Services, Columbus
  • Franciscan Saint Margaret Health, Dyer

Congratulations and thanks to Linda Brinson, the Draper Wellness Committee and all Draper employees for your excellent efforts to improve our health!

About John Pidgeon

My name is John Pidgeon and I am Draper’s president.

I was born to this job. Draper was founded by my great grandfather Luther Draper. My grandfather Elmer Pidgeon and my father Luther Pidgeon have served as Draper’s president.

My career here dates from the summer of 1957 when I began mowing the company lawn. The pay was good – $3.00 for four hours work. My job description and compensation have improved moderately since then.

I will be writing from time to time on matters of general interest.

My husband, Terry Couch, has worked at Spiceland Wood products for 30 years as of this November 2012 ! He cuts slats and dowel rods for shades and other such products for your company. One of his 7 sisters, Ann Taylor, works for you as well. They both take pride in saying your company is a big part of their lives. If you or any of your employees see him bringing his finished products to your warehouse next month, please wish him a happy anniversary !! And if you would like to give him a little gift, you could cut out the middle man (SWP) and make him a little wood shop next to your warehouse and have him do nothing but cut your slats all day !! Ha just wishing !!! Have a great year and may God bless !!

    Amy Madden ROCKS!

When I am NOT able to reach my designated Representative, I ask for Amy. She always helps me or answers my questions.
