Fresh From The LDI Show

Draper booth at the LDI Show

Draper booth at the LDI Show

Now that I’m recovering from seeing white dots and peering through the fake fog…the LDI Lighting and Design Show is as strong as ever. Traffic in Vegas is up, and many came to our booth with a positive outlook. Looks promising for a strong upcoming year. I was glad to have the opportunity to show off some of our new products.

This was the first trade show exhibit where we’ve shown our new Chroma Key surfaces. We now offer Chroma Key fabrics in blue and green as an option with several projection screen models. We had an Ultimate Folding Screen in the booth with a Chroma Key Green fabric stretched onto the frame. Several visitors were surprised and pleased that we have added this material. Others mentioned ours will be a big improvement over a green drape. What are your thoughts about green screen? Where do you and your customers use this technology?

We are also showing many other new projection screen materials, with choices to address, low, high, and medium light conditions. Our broad line of surfaces also includes products to address short throw lens projectors, blending, and rear projection needs.

Lastly, our biggest products for the LDI Show are always the portable screens. They are used for flying, free standing on legs, or rolling up/down. We’ve added strength to the Ultimate Folding Screen, and the upgrade drew great comments. The modular design of the FocalPoint and StageScreen is so unique that it still catches eyes. Just showing our products in full view really helped our customers, old and new, really see what we can do.

If you missed us at LDI, and are interested in these new products and features, please let me know! I hope we can help you.

About Jim Hoodlebrink

Hello! I am in product management for Draper, currently focusing on AV Rental products. I support our sales force and our customers with information about Draper's wide range of portable products.

It seems to me our best products and ideas come from listening to our customers, so I hope this blog can not only interest you but also spur some great conversation.

My background includes an education from Indiana University (I hope the basketball team improves soon) and 18 years of experience in the industry. I have held various positions within Draper starting as a Regional Manager with an eventual transition into Product Management. I love sports and outdoor activities and occasionally sneak in some Xbox with my kids. I continue to keep up with my CTS certification and enjoy working for Draper and being a part of this industry.

I look forward to posting to this blog and sharing my experience and conversations with you. I welcome your interest and comments.
