As Mike Krzyzewski marks his 1000th career coaching win, and Duke University marked the 75th anniversary of Cameron Indoor Stadium on January 6th, Draper felt pride in knowing that EZ-Fold basketball backstops have been a part of that history. Draper offers our congratulations on both significant milestones!

18728AAlthough EZ-Fold backstops were not there at the very beginning—when the building opened on January 6th, 1940—they have been there for well over half the facility’s life. EZ-Fold backstops were installed in 1977 when the building was remodeled.

We have been fortunate enough to be there for all of Coach K’s time at Duke University. Since his arrival in Durham for the 1980-81 season, he has amassed 469 home wins, all on EZ-Fold Backstops; maybe even a few as the result of a friendly roll or two off the backstops! One thousand wins is an amazing accomplishment and we are happy to be part of many of those victories.

The EZ-Fold backstops that have been so good to Coach K’s teams also add to the unique environment of Cameron Indoor Stadium. Ceiling-suspended backstops certainly are not unique to Cameron, but over the years, they have become less common for major college competition and this installation shows one of their main benefits. EZ-Fold ceiling suspended backstops allow for seating to be located much closer to the baseline than portable backstops. The seating in close proximity to the court allows the “Cameron Crazies” to harass and rattle opposing players as they cheer coach K’s Blue Devils to victory.

The now 38-year-old, 46’ tall EZ-Fold TF-20S backstops have endured lots of play and monster slams, and served several Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and national champions over the years. As you read this nice article about Cameron Indoor Stadium from Athletic Business Magazine, you can be certain that Draper and EZ-Fold are ready for many more years of great play in this awesome facility.
