Show_4Over the years modeling and simulation have become increasingly important in training and education, and the military is no exception. Starting Monday I’ll be in Orlando, Florida for the main trade show gathering where military personnel mix with industry professionals and educators to get information, find new solutions, and take education courses on using simulation and modeling in training. In fact, the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) bills itself as the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training conference.

So why does Draper exhibit at what is mostly a military simulation show?

As one of the largest and more innovative projection screen manufacturers in the world, Draper has the ability to develop the kind of customized solutions show attendees need for many unique applications. For instance, on the screen side of projection simulation, we can provide many choices depending on the need: front or rear projection; curved or flat; controlled or bright lighting; circles, ovals, or rectangles.

Draper's custom abilities are particularly useful to the simulation and training segment.

Draper also provides custom solutions behind the scenes. We can design and manufacture custom structures including support structures, mirrors, or other unique needs around audiovisual products. (For a non-simulation example, check out this story about custom support structures we came up with for an outdoor pool projection mapping job).

In the Draper I/ITSEC booth I’ll be showcasing our abilities in this area with a fairly basic example. We are showing a curved Edgeless Clarion with TecVision XT1000 White. This 4K, ISF-certified viewing surface is perfect for the type of multiple projector blending used in simulations, and we will be projecting blended images onto the screen to demonstrate its capabilities.

Of course, Draper has so many solutions that it would be impossible to pack them all into one booth at I/ITSEC. Products such as our VersaRoll semi-rigid acrylic screen that ships rolled on a core; acrylic and glass rear screens with a variety of standard or custom coatings; mirror systems; and of course our full line of screen material choices, including the award-winning Optically Seamless TecVision.

If you’re joining us in Orlando next week for I/ITSEC, be sure to stop by booth #1064!
