Just in case you haven’t heard the news, let me be the first to break it to you: Pantone has named its 2017 Color of the Year!

The Color of the Year is … Greenery, also known as Pantone 15-0343. Pantone calls it a “refreshing and revitalizing shade,” adding that “Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.”

Pantone says this about why it chooses a Color of the year: “A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” Last year’s Color of the Year was actually two colors, Rose Quartz and Serenity.

If you aren’t familiar with Pantone, they are providers of color systems. Pantone is also the standard language among designers for color communication …. Whether we’re talking printed materials, web colors, fabrics, and more, Pantone is a go-to reference for building colors. People who know about colors—artists, designers, and printers for instance—know all about Pantone.

Pantone calls Greenery “nature’s neutral,” referring to is as a “trans-seasonal” color that will fit into lots of color palettes and design applications. And, while we aren’t offering an official Pantone Greenery window shade or anything, there are a few ways Draper can help architects and designers work it into projects.

Graphic Shades
Incorporate Greenery into custom designs on graphic window shades. With Draper’s color matching capabilities, you can be sure the color will be right. That neutral green will look especially nice in designs reminiscent of the great outdoors.

Custom Signage
Draper also prints custom signage on our portable and wall or ceiling mounted Video Conferencing Backgrounds. Incorporate Greenery in your trade show or other rolldown/pull up signage designs for use in trade shows, video conferencing, photo backdrops, and more. We use the same color matching technology as we do on graphic shades, so once again your images will be spot on.

Highlight Your Shade Hardware
Draper offers custom powder coat colors on our window shade headboxes and fascia. It does cost extra, but imagine being able to tell everyone that those hardware pieces are part of an overall design scheme incorporating the Color of the Year!

Perfect Pairings
While we aren’t offering a Greenery shade fabric, our range of colors is so vast that it won’t take long to find the perfect color to work in combination with Greenery. You can check our online fabric selector tool for a match, or do it the old-fashioned way—use our fabric samples!
