Community service is a very important concept for Draper—not in a “that’s nice” way, but in a “walk the walk” way.

As more evidence of that commitment in action, company president John Pidgeon was recently honored by the Henry County United Fund. John received the annual Spirit of Giving Award from the organization, which provides support for many local charity agencies.

“John is extremely dedicated to his community,” according to a United Fund statement announcing the award. “John understands the importance of making a positive lasting impact on both your community and your company.”

John supports many local organizations, but the United Fund in particular recognized his work with two local organizations: Henry Community Health and the Henry County Community Foundation. John has been the president of the Henry Community Health board of trustees for more than 20 years, and has served as a Community Foundation board or committee member for more than 30 years.

Congratulations to John for receiving the Spirit of Caring Award. We’d also like to give a shout-out to all the Draper employees who volunteer in various capacities for many local church and civic groups. Your work helps bind the community together, and a strong community is one of the advantages of doing business here in Henry County, Indiana … where it all started!
