About Bob Hadsell

I’m Bob Hadsell. I’ve been Draper’s Home Theatre Sales Manager since July of 2000. I’ve had several sales positions outside our industry, but with a Telecommunications Degree, the opportunity to work at Draper was a great way to get back in the industry and with the people I enjoy.

I’ll be writing on topics of interest to our dealers and their customers, not just on projection and projection screens, but also on what I’ve observed as I meet with members of our industry.

Five Reasons to Love the Onyx More

Onyx with Mitered Corners

When Draper’s Onyx Permanently Tensioned Screen frame was introduced in 2003, our customers loved the easy way it was assembled, the clean beveled look and the very reasonable price. It was one of the most successful product launches we’ve had. Nine years later, it is still our best selling fixed wall screen, and it is…

Getting to the Moon…

Buzz Aldrin on the moon in 1969

Recent trends in the Custom Install industry have some manufacturers eliminating their independent manufacturer’s representatives. Unlike these manufacturers, Draper is a supporter of using manufacturer representatives. They provide our customers with important information about products, help in training and trouble shooting, and are our eyes and ears in the field. A good rep has both the integrator’s…

Lighting up the CEA Line Show NYC

Draper Onyx, shown in a "flex theatre"

New York City in late June! The weather was great (cooler than our drought-stricken state), the people wonderful (as always! I think New Yorkers get a bum rap…), and the lights!!! June 27 and 28, the lights were on at the CEA Line Show NYC, bringing together media and trade types from around the country.…

Draper makes it to TV!

Draper Targa

Most of the leaders of our industry are local businessmen; a great many are very involved in projects that benefit their local communities, neighborhoods and organizations. One such example is a project that involved Tom Walker and Mark Jahnigen of Wired Home Automation Services of East Petersburg, PA. Tom was working on a solution for…

Knowledge = Value: A Lesson for CEDIA

Draper_ExtFS-ClutchforWeb

In my life previous to Draper, I made a short detour through my father’s auto service business. It was a great learning experience, giving me insight into not only the management of a small business, but also into service sales. For example, we often had customers question us on the price of a simple tune-up.…
