In this week’s Why Draper post, I’d like to introduce you to Art Tober (CSI, CDT), Draper’s Contract Regional Sales Manager for Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

How did you come to be working at Draper?
I started at Draper in August of 2000…It’s hard to believe that I’ve been here almost 15 years! We lived in New Castle, Indiana at the time. My wife Christina worked at Draper, and prior to coming to Draper, I was the pastor at Memorial Baptist Church in New Castle.

DSC01449What do you like best about your job?
What I like best about my job is winning over dealers and projects from the competitors. I enjoy meeting new people and establishing long-term relationships with them. These relationships include my colleagues (friends) at Draper.

What are some of your funniest moments at Draper?
Field Sales Manager Lee Denhart and Contract Market Manager Chris Broome were coming to meet me in Chicago…Lee called me to tell me that they were on the side of the Skyway with a flat tire. While we were on the phone, Lee started yelling that Chris just got hit by a car. At that time, I believed him, but it wasn’t true, and now I never believe their stories. One day something will really happen and I won’t believe them! I just really appreciate being able to joke around and have some fun too.

DSC01392What do you like to do in your time away from Draper?
I like to spend time with my family, go to Mackinac Island and Frankenmuth (both in Michigan) with my wife, and smoke a nice cigar …

Tell us about your family….
My wife Christina and I will be married 23 years on the 25th of this month. We both worked at Draper before we moved to Michigan in 2002. She is now an RN, and is working on a Family Nurse Practitioner Master’s degree. Our oldest daughter, Leah, will graduate from high school this year. She will be starting at our local community college in the fall. Our youngest daughter, Alexis, is just a year behind her, and she will graduate in 2016.
