Later this month, we’ll be off to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville Tennessee for the annual Budget Blinds national convention.
Every year Budget Blinds franchisees from the US and Canada are joined by Draper and other vendors from around the globe.
Teri Boxell and Karen Reno are responsible for Draper’s sales and marketing efforts to Budget Blinds, and Teri has this preview of the Budget Blinds 2016 convention:
This year’s theme is “Empowered by Design,” with an emphasis on heroes. Unlike some trade shows, the BB Convention includes a number of dinners and parties that we attend along with the franchisees. A fun event will be a “Bar Crawl” in the hotel with live music, games, and photos. Draper is one of the party sponsors and nearly everyone comes in some sort of costume. The Draper group will be wearing superhero T-shirts and black capes. I’m not sure if all that black will make us the good guys or super-villains, but we’ll have fun either way!
Budget Blinds sells a lot of graphic shades. Draper has a new in-house printing system that we will be highlighting at the show. Along with sharper images and an amazing palette of colors, our lead times for printed shades will be greatly reduced. Mike Feeney, graphic designer and all-around printing genius, will give a sneak peek of a new graphic shade mobile app. Karen Reno and I will be leading two breakout sessions during the show—one about graphic shades and the other about commercial shades.
Our T-Shirts for the costume party were designed by Jess Bradway, the daughter of Draper’s Amy Bradway. By the way—we voted to wear jeans on the bottom half instead of tights!
Thanks Teri! In addition to Teri, Karen, Mike, and myself, we will be joined at the booth by Chris Broome, Lee Denhart, and Ross Rhoades.
So if you’re heading to the Budget Blinds national convention, January 25-28, be sure and stop by to see what we can do for you!
