The AV industry is continually evolving as improved technologies are developed. At InfoComm 2018, Draper will be embracing that evolution, once again celebrating our best year ever and increasing our focus on innovative solutions.
Here’s a sneak peek at what we will be displaying at InfoComm this year:
Custom audiovisual solutions.
We’ll be bringing a range of new products and solutions, ranging from core offerings to tailored systems that interface buildings, workspaces, and technology. Some of the most visible products in our booth will be custom structures for dvLED and LCD by some of our industry partners.
Projection innovations.
Projection will also be highlighted in our biggest InfoComm booth ever. Most ambient light rejecting screen surfaces are manufactured to reflect off-axis ambient light away from the viewer and can hotspot severely with ultra-short throw projection. TecVision XH800X UST ALR breaks through that barrier and is optimized to balance ambient light rejection with the demands of ultra-short throw projection. It rejects up to 57% of off-axis ambient light and has a reasonable gain of 0.8 without sacrificing projection light or causing major hot spots. Short throw projection is an important tool in classrooms, where the lights need to be kept on for students and instructors to work together. TecVision XH800X UST ALR will dramatically increase the effectiveness of these classrooms.
We’ll also demo TecVision CS1000X ALR, a 1.0 gain screen surface that rejects 82 percent of ambient light. A great solution in rooms with uncontrolled light, TecVision CS1000X ALR’s half gain angle is 20 degrees and should be viewed within 30 to 35 degrees off-axis.
In addition to showing a three-projector blend on a 24-foot-wide screen, we’ll also be doing a side-by-side comparison of legibility on projection screens versus a direct view display.
Projector enclosures.
Silent Partner™ ensures projector heat and noise are no longer a problem: The Silent Partner is a projector enclosure designed to hold projectors from 5,000—15,000 ANSI lumens with a convoluted exhaust airflow path and acoustic insulation foam to greatly reduce any sound from the projector, while the thermostatic fan control ensures proper projector cooling.
Draper’s fly cages are designed to provide sturdy, long-lasting protection. Manufactured from 2” tubing, Draper fly cages easily attach to cheeseborough clamps for quick and secure mounting to truss. The adjustment mechanism allows precise projector alignment, and multiple cages can be stacked for increased projector brightness or redundancy.
Screens in high places.
Installing a large projection screen from a high ceiling can be difficult and expensive. It requires a lot of extra fabric (aka extra drop) to get the viewing surface down to viewable height. This can create surface flatness issues, plus you have a distracting piece of black fabric hanging down into the room above the image. Ropewalker lowers a motorized screen housing from the ceiling using durable steel cables. A motorized projection screen will descend from the housing to an appropriate height typically up to 34 feet, making it ideal for most large venues, including houses of worship, ballrooms, gymnasiums or architecturally appealing rooms.
The Park.
Draper will also be featuring collaborations with Sony, Absen, NEC, Leyard Planar, and D3 during the show, as well as sponsoring The Park for the second consecutive year. The Park is an area where attendees can come to relax and recharge, whether it’s a bite to eat, recharging your cell phone, or enjoying live entertainment and free beer (during the last hour of the show day). Content from four NEC projectors in Draper fly cages will be blended on a large Draper StageScreen.
Draper family of brands.
Be sure to check on the solutions from SMS (Smart Media Solutions) and Evoko, two Draper wholly-owned subsidiaries based in Stockholm, Sweden. Draper is now the exclusive source for the broad SMS line of casings, mounts, and structures for LCD displays in North America. We’ll have a couple of examples in our booth. Evoko will showcase next-gen solutions for phone conferencing, meeting room management, and more.
