Since we officially introduced our custom audiovisual solutions initiative last summer, the opportunities in both AV and solar control have continued to expand. We have already developed key partnerships with several industry leaders to produce custom LED and LCD mounting and frame solutions.

The initiative has gone so well that we are expanding our custom AV team.

AV industry veteran Grant Wylie has joined Draper as director of product management-AV structures and solutions.

Grant’s 13 years in AV includes product management roles for Daktronics, Peerless-AV, and, most recently, NEC Display Solutions of America.

Grant’s focus will be on helping Draper develop the best custom solutions possible for key partners and their customers.

“Making the decision to leave NEC was not easy,” Grant said. “I really enjoyed working with the Draper team while at NEC and after I learned what the Draper team is really capable of, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Draper is a relatively new player in the custom AV structures market and I’m really looking forward to the challenge as the company’s presence grows.”

Grant’s focus on product management and technologies will also allow director of business development Kevin Barlow to focus on building and managing relationships with key partners.

“The response to our entry into custom AV solutions has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Bob Mathes, Draper’s director of audiovisual markets. “Grant’s talent and experience, particularly with LED, will allow us to do even bigger and better things. His addition to our team makes us a much stronger manufacturing partner and gives us a tremendous boost in the market.”

In addition to Grant and Kevin, a team of AV industry veterans with 47 years of service with Draper supports this initiative.
