At Draper, we take prooduct safety seriously. Draper offers bead chain operated roller shades that comply with the new American National Standard for Safety of Corded Window Covering Products (ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2012). This new standard went into effect on June 1. If our interior clutch-operated roller shades are installed in an environment where it’s reasonably foreseeable that young children will be present, then our product needs to comply with the standard. Thanks for the information. It would be good to have window shades at home. Your interior would be safe from the excessive heat from the sun that could damage your furniture. It wouldn’t be a threat to the safety of your children as long as it passed the standard.
