Draper Safety Committee

Above: Members of the Draper Safety Committee, a cross functional team of volunteers representing many departments from throughout the company.

On November 25 we were informed by the Indiana Department of Labor that Draper has been granted INSHARP certification for a period of three years.

INSHARP stands for Indiana Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.  It recognizes Indiana companies that operate exemplary safety and health management systems.  Certification in INSHARP recognizes an employer as a model worksite for occupational safety and health.

Employers who receive INSHARP certification also receive exemption from programmed IOSHA compliance inspections for the period in which their certification is valid.  In each of the next three years Draper will supply its OSHA 300 Log, injury and illness incident reports and a self-evaluation of its safety and health management program in lieu of an IOSHA inspection.

Draper qualified for this recognition by –

  • Demonstrating that our incidence of injury and illness has been below the national average for our industry in each of the last three years.
  • Designing and implementing a safety and health management program that meets or exceeds OSHA standards.
  • Requesting and passing an on-site INSHARP evaluation.

Only 43 Indiana companies have been granted INSHARP certification since the program began almost seven years ago.

Congratulations to Linda Brinson, Safety Director, the Draper Safety Committee, Draper Department Heads and all Draper employees on this important achievement!
