One of the best parts of the holidays is all of the delicious treats we get to enjoy. Candy, cookies, pies—the list of high-calorie possibilities is nearly endless.
Fudge is a must-have this time of year in Indiana. There are all sorts of fudge flavors you can do, from chocolate to peanut butter to vanilla … the yummy list goes on and on. But the Draper employee cookbook has the perfect holiday spin on this delectable treat: white chocolate peppermint fudge! This festive take on fudge comes from Marilyn Ingle, who works in Draper’s shipping/warehouse department.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 12 oz. white chocolate (chopped)
- 7 oz. jar marshmallow cream
- 1/2 cup coarsely crushed candy canes
Combine sugar, sour cream, and margarine in a heavy 3 quart saucepan; bring to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes over medium heat, or when candy thermometer reaches 234°, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients, beat until well blended. Pour into greased 9″ square baking pan. Cool to room temperature. Cut into squares.
Thanks for sharing, Marilyn!
