Lisa Knotts is the latest member of our customer service department to be profiled in a Why Draper post. It’s Lisa’s job to help make sure urgent orders get out the door. I think our customers will agree she does a great job!
How did you come to be working at Draper?
I have been familiar with Draper all my life, as I grew up in Spiceland and my Dad worked here in the Shade department for 42 years. I remember when the plant and the office were in the same building. It is awesome to see how the company has grown over the years. The previous job I had was revamping so I decided it was time for a change as well. I sent in my resume. I first had an interview with AV/Video Marketing Manager Bob Mathes and Fred Mann, who was then in charge of the contract area. Then came a second interview with Bob Mathes, Chris Broome, and a couple of others. It seems Mike Broome and John Pidgeon were in the interview as well, but I don’t recall for sure. There were three to four in the room. I was hired for a sales position in the Export Department. I worked in Export Sales for approximately three years then transferred to Customer Service where I have been ever since. This all began 15 years ago. I haven’t any regrets.
