InfoComm 2018 is in the books. Thank you to those who stopped by our booth to experience the “Draper you never knew.” For those of you who couldn’t make it, here’s what you missed:
A trade show like InfoComm is all about the innovation. We were excited to bring a new solution created specifically for ultra- short throw projection under ambient light to this year’s show. And it was very well-received. TecVision XH800X UST ALR received three awards:
- Commercial Integrator Best award
- Best of Show award from AV Technology Magazine
- Best of Show award from Sound & Video Contractor
Booth visitors were also impressed by the improved contrast and color saturation in moderate to high ambient light applications. This surface can reject 57% of off axis ambient light, while still being able to support extremely wide viewing angles.
Our hush box, the Silent Partner, also received a CI Best from Commercial Integrator.
The evolution continues.
As in 2017, much of our focus at this year’s InfoComm was on our continuing evolution as an AV solutions provider. We introduced a range of new custom AV solutions, from core offerings to tailored systems that interface buildings, workspaces, and technology.
Core solutions are standard products that can be ordered by part number. Advanced offerings are specialty products made-to-order. Tailored solutions are systems we’ve designed from the ground up. We had examples of all three in our booth, and they attracted a lot of traffic.
Some of the most visible products in our booth were custom structures designed with and for industry partners, including Sony, NEC, Absen, D3 LED, and Leyard Planar. Visitors were blown away by our elegant and sturdy mounting and trim solutions. They may have been more impressed by our ability to work closely with a partner to develop those solutions. Finding and keeping the right strategic partners is a key to success in AV and digital signage, and are thrilled with the companies which we are supporting.
Telling the Draper story.
When a company evolves and rebrands it takes a lot of work to get that message out. At InfoComm 2017, and in the year since, we worked hard to let people know about the rebranding, and the new direction Draper is taking. This year, people came to our booth and told us our own story—and they got it right! They also shared their own stories with us. It was great to connect in that way, underlining the fact that Draper’s evolution from 2017 wasn’t just a new booth or our improved logo.
