There are several great online architectural communities where you can get design ideas, building and product news, and solutions. Draper can be found on many such sites, and since we’ve just joined probably the biggest such community in the world, here’s a reminder of places you’ll find us:
Architecture design and news
While publications like Architectural Record and Architect still have a lot of readers, architects now find inspiration, information, and news online. There are a lot of excellent sites that serve a Pinterest-style role for architects. The biggest is ArchDaily, This is the newest online site for Draper content and we’re especially pleased to be part of it! Via ArchDaily, architects can see our products in real world applications, download information, and see projects in which our products are featured.
Specifications and product information
Eye-catching photos and project examples show architects and designers how Draper products will work in your buildings. Draper product specifications are part of AVITRU’s MasterFormat MasterSpec. For those who don’t want to copy and paste using written specs, we also work with sites that provide wizards to help you select what you want from checklists and dropdown menus. ARCAT is online and free to use. We can also be found in SpecLink, ) which is a subscription service.
AECInfo also hosts Draper product information. This site includes descriptions of our product categories, and links to specifications and drawings.
Building Information Modeling
Speaking of drawings, 3D building information models (BIM) are also offered by Draper. You can simply drop a 3D drawing of Draper’s product into a building design, and size it to fit perfectly into the structure. The site that hosts our BIM objects is BIMObject.com.
If there are other places you go for architectural news and inspiration, let us know in the comments section and we’ll check them out.
For those of you who are already familiar with Draper solutions, we also host the same specifications and BIM content on our own website. Each product page has links to catalogs and technical documentation. You can also click here to find what you’re looking for.
