Projection technology has improved drastically so it can be successful in more conditions than ever before. Along with that has come a need in the market for a surface mounted screen that looks great even when it’s not in use.

That’s why Draper® designed the Acumen® series of projection screens with a winning combination of maximum versatility and elegance.

Here are five reasons the Acumen series is your best answer for any application requiring a below-the-ceiling screen.

The Design
Today’s designer is looking for a screen that doesn’t detract from the room space around it. The Acumen’s sleek screen case looks great even when it’s not in use. If you do notice it, the elegant, curved fascia fits any design aesthetic. The housing has fewer visible fasteners and features a stunning white powder coated finish to complement any room design.

The Versatility
Power, control, and wiring needs vary widely across projects. Acumen is available with standard voltage, low voltage, and rechargeable battery motors so you can use it in virtually any situation. Controls range from simple wall switches to low voltage switches and remotes, and the ability to integrate into smart home and other control systems. The Recharge battery version lasts about 500 cycles before recharging is required.

Floating mounting brackets allow quick and easy installation for any Acumen, no matter where the wall studs or ceiling supports are.

The Performance
Projection screens need to be ready for action in many different environments. Ambient light may be an issue; classroom and training room lights may need to be left on for note-taking; larger rooms mean people sitting further off to the sides more distance to the farthest viewer; the projector may even need a slight brightness boost.

The Acumen series can tackle these and other issues because of the wide variety of Draper viewing surfaces from which to choose. The Acumen V, Recharge V, and Acumen XL V are available with our award-winning, 8K-ready TecVision® surfaces. Whatever projection challenge you come up against there is a TecVision solution.

The Size.
The Acumen Recharge is available up to 10 feet wide and the Acumen V up to 12 feet wide. Whole those sizes are big enough for most applications, in larger venues you need more. For those larger spaces, the Acumen XL takes the series into sizes through 18’ wide. And you don’t have to trade size for looks. The Acumen XL V features the same streamlined extruded aluminum case design finished in white powder coat.

The Warranty.
The standard warranty for Draper projection screens is five years. But with the introduction of the Acumen series, Draper wanted to underscore the strength and durability of this design. So, we supersized it with an extended 7-year warranty. This is the best warranty in the industry—but we don’t think you’ll ever need it.
