Draper is elevating window shade style and convenience with two innovative additions to the Draper At Home collection.

FlexStyle™ is an all-new open roller motorized window shade system designed to meet the exacting standards of the most fashion-conscious homeowner. The alluring, stylish brackets are available in 9 colors and every FlexStyle shade is custom manufactured and hand inspected in the company’s world class Spiceland, Indiana factory.

“FlexStyle is the first shade product we’ve ever designed, engineered, and built specifically for the residential market,” said Randy Reece, Draper director of AV sales and marketing. “We see this as an important and expanding market and so we asked our product designers to come up with something special – something that subtly enhances any interior design.”

FlexStyle features hundreds of fabric color, texture, and openness choices from American weavers Phifer and Mermet USA, plus custom colors, patterns, and graphics.

FlexStyle and our existing FlexShade lines will both benefit from another innovation. You’ll experience a new level of performance and simplicity with Somfy motors with built-in Zigbee technology. Draper At Home roller shades will feature both standard wired and battery powered Zigbee motors.

“Zigbee technology brings several advantages to the smart home environment,” said Reece. “It operates on a mesh network, so wireless control range can be expanded to suit each individual installation. It’s also more stable than other wireless technologies and offers longer life for battery-operated shades.”

Using Zigbee also allows better monitoring of shades along with other smart devices on home networks.

Our next big steps forward in window shade innovation will be on full display later this month at the CEDIA Expo in Dallas. If you’re planning to attend, stop by booth 23081, September 29-October 1 in Dallas. If not, you can learn more at our special CEDIA News web page.
